Screening at the Seattle Film Institute

Screening of CCAF Film at the Seattle Film InstituteLast night we had a chance to screen one of our videos for a group of documentary filmmakers at a meeting hosted by 911 Media. This monthly DocuTalk series allows novices, old hands and everyone in between to share knowledge and inspiration for nonfiction filmmaking.

Our film about the Cambodian Children’s Advocacy Foundation got a warm reception. The panel found it informative and compelling, and offered lots of good advice, from using lighting to make interviewee eyes sparkle, to making a companion video with a more direct ask for donations and financial information about the group.

We look forward to further collaborations with many of the attendees: Tom, a DP with myriad Hollywood credits, offered to give us a master class in camera work; Andrew, about to graduate with a degree in animation, may help us out with an After Effects project; and Connie had great ideas for getting our Cambodian projects out into Seattle’s Asian community. We are excited to connect with Seattle’s vibrant storytelling community!
