The Cambodian Children’s Advocacy Foundation (ccaf-khmer.org) runs 18 pre-schools in rural Kampot Province, Cambodia. They provide four- and five-year-olds with basic math and literacy skills, along with nutritious meals and medical checks. Only one in seven Cambodian children attend school before age six, so there is a pressing need for this successful program to be expanded and replicated.
The Provincial Teacher Training College in Kampot, Cambodia has launched an ambitious program to provide a resource box to every graduating teacher trainee. In the past, education has been based on memorization, but new child-friendly teaching techniques are being introduced. The teacher’s resource kits include games, illustrations and science experiments that engage children and foster an active learning environment.
Please leave us comments on our crayonimation project or any of our other videos! We will try to incorporate your ideas into upcoming productions.
