Seattle Charities Screen Videos at Upstream Nonprofit Film Festival

Anne from PROVAIL discusses her video with the audience at the Upstream Nonprofit Film Festival

A dozen new filmmakers shared their organizations’ messages at the Upstream Nonprofit Film Festival at the Northwest Film Forum on Oct. 30, 2012. The screenings were followed by audience discussions, in which the crowd offered helpful feedback and lots of praise.

The filmmakers were all participants in a four-part digital storytelling workshop series led by ChangeStream Media in September and October. We were thrilled that each of the 12 participants completed a video in under two months!

The new filmmakers are staff and volunteers from Zero Waste Washington, World Affairs Council of Seattle, Bike Works, Street Yoga, Washington Trails Association, Northwest Kidney Centers, Artist Trust, Art for Animals Sake, Out In Front, PROVAIL, and the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority.

ChangeStream Media also premiered two new videos, including Joana’s Story: Living With HIV in Roatán, Honduras.

Our digital storytelling workshops, as well as the Upstream Nonprofit Film Festival, were generously sponsored by West Monroe Partners.

We’ll offer more workshops, as well as another Upstream Nonprofit Film Festival, in 2013. Contact denise [at] changestreammedia [dot] org for more information.
